Access control Now Up & Running
Manchester United Football Club has used the Net 2 system from Paxton Access to control the egress of fans at its grounds at Trafford Park. Although primarily an access control system, the Net 2 software has been specially adapted to meet the Club’s exact requirements. The result is a system that that is both simple to operate and highly effective, allowing for the upmost flexibility in controlling the crowds.
Security Centralisation Project Now Up & Running
A £3.5m control room monitoring 700 cameras covering hospital sites across Leeds has been officially opened. The Leeds Teaching Hospitals new control room has been incorporated into the newly-opened Bexley Wing at St James’s University Hospital, which houses the St James’s Institute of Oncology. Peter Foy, Head of Security for the Leeds Teaching Hospitals, said: "This is the largest and most ambitious facility anywhere in the NHS and is a major step forward in ensuring safety and security on all our sites.” The control room replaces a smaller CCTV room at the Gledhow Wing at St James’s and the Jubilee Wing across the city at Leeds General Infirmary. It has links to cameras at Seacroft Hospital, Chapel Allerton Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital. The new security centre can monitor CCTV, access control, intruder detection and other alerts relating to medical gases, blood banks, lifts and fire systems, using a central management system.
Cheshire benefits from new TV and satellite system
Nunsmere Hall is a luxury 4 star English country hotel which dates back to around 1900. The new installation was designed to provide all the guest bedrooms and public areas with the capability of freeview and a select number of satellite channels. After just two and half weeks the system was in and fully operational providing guests 16 freeview and 3 satellite channels as well as the prospect of interactive TV to look forward to. Mark Huntley, General Manager commented “We were very pleased with the work carried out by Garndene. The work was completed on time and the quality of the work carried out was first class. No disturbance to any guests was noticed and we would not hesitate to recommend them in the future”.
